Dammastock
An easy but very long ski tour to the highest peak in the Uri Alps
There are certainly more exciting mountaineering tours out there, but as an easier ski tour this is a good place to build endurance, grinding up the long Rhône glacier. Anyone looking for shifting terrain will be disappointed. Even so, the Dammastock is a fairly popular objective both on skis and as a summer mountaineering tour.
As a summer mountaineering tour the route is currently not really recommended, with large collapses around the glacier tongue and rockfall from the east side. See the SAC Tourenportal for up-to-date condition reports.
