Privacy

This site is run by Cornelia Mertens (see Impressum). I handle your data sparingly and in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR.

What I collect, and why

  • Waitlist and newsletter signups. When you give your email address, I store it to write to you about a hike you asked about, or to send the newsletter. Stored with the time you gave consent.
  • Inquiries. When you send an inquiry about a guided hike, I store the details you submit so I can reply and organise the hike.
  • Bookings. When you book a hike, I store your name, email, the hike and date, and payment status, so I can run the hike and meet my bookkeeping obligations.

I do not run advertising trackers, and I do not sell or share your data with marketing partners.

Who processes data on my behalf

  • Vercel — website hosting (servers in the EU/US).
  • Notion — where signups, inquiries, and bookings are stored.
  • Resend — sends confirmation emails.
  • Buttondown — newsletter list and delivery.
  • Stripe — payment processing for bookings. Card details go directly to Stripe; I never see or store them.

Each of these processes data under its own terms and appropriate safeguards.

How long I keep it

  • Newsletter and waitlist: until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you.
  • Inquiries: up to two years after our last contact.
  • Booking records: as long as Swiss bookkeeping law requires (currently ten years).

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to show you the data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Newsletter emails include a one-click unsubscribe. For anything else, write to [your-email@your-domain.ch].
