Wissigstock ab Rugghubelhütte
A fine summit above the Griessen glacier, from the Rugghubelhütte along the blue-and-white marked trail.
How much longer does the glacier live?
The ascent of the Wissigstock is usually made from the Rugghubelhütte. Passing the Engelberger Rotstock and the Rot Grätli, you take the blue-and-white trail to the top. The view into the valley and across the firn fields is superb — and you can’t help wondering how much longer the Griessen glacier below will last.
The descent follows the same route back. A rewarding alpine hike with a glacier view.
Tip: missed the last gondola at Ristis (Brunni)? Then walk to the mountain station of the Bord railway, which runs longer.
On my list but not yet walked myself — a personal report will follow.
