Pure panorama on the Spilauer Grätli

In the mood for grand views and exciting terrain without too much climbing? The tour from Ruoggig over the Spilauer Grätli to the Lidernenhütte is pure panorama, with views reaching from the big Uri peaks all the way to the Alpstein. The paths are steep in places, and a few scrambling sections are secured with chains — a good chance to get a first taste of T4 without things ever getting too exposed. A perfect day out for anyone who likes a little adventure. At the end, the Lidernenhütte is the place for a cold drink.

The loop is 8.8 km, 660 m of climbing and 670 m of descent, walking time 4 h — though it’s worth allowing more for the views and the breaks.

Tip: For something more demanding (and even more scenic), carry on to the Rossstocklücke and up the Rossstock.
