Vieux Emosson Geology Trail (Dinosaur Tracks)
A steep climb from the Emosson dam to the Vieux Emosson reservoir and the archosaur trackway: real Triassic dinosaur footprints in slabs at 2400 m.
Vieux Emosson Geology Trail (Dinosaur Tracks)
From the dam the trail climbs a stepped ramp up onto the upper cirque, where the Vieux Emosson reservoir sits below the pink slabs of the Aiguilles Rouges. The dinosaur trackway itself is on a large sandstone bench above the north shore, signed and easy to miss if you don’t look. On a clear day the Mont Blanc massif fills the whole southern skyline.
