Hoh Brisen
A dreamlike, exposed alpine hike from Niederrickenbach to the Hoh Brisen — for those who like it wild.
“The wild guy”
The Hoh Brisen is a hike for those who like it wild. If the chairlift from Niederrickenbach is running, you can shorten the tour by about 700 metres and sip a coffee at the little restaurant by the Haldigrat before heading up the steep ridge toward the Brisen. Just below the summit you follow the pathless ridge toward the Hoh Brisen.
At first the terrain is still good-natured, but just before the top it becomes very exposed and requires a head for heights. The way back leads via the Brisenhaus to Niederrickenbach.
Tip: sure-footed, steady with heights, and only in dry conditions — a dreamlike alpine hike with a special summit.
On my list but not yet walked myself — a personal report will follow.
